JERRY TRUPIANO
PRESIDENT/CEO

Mr. Trupiano received his B.S. in Business Administration from Nichols College in 1984. He began his career as a Group Underwriter at State Mutual Life Assurance Company in 1984 where he gained 6 years of experience underwriting all lines of first dollar group business. During 1990 and 1991 Mr. Trupiano furthered his career as a Reinsurance Underwriter at Medical Reinsurance Underwriters Inc. and at Health Reinsurance Management, Inc. where he was the Director of Underwriting. Later in 1991 Mr. Trupiano joined R.E. Moulton, Inc. as Underwriting Manager of a large block of medical stop loss business; in addition he was later given responsibility for all reinsurance treaty placements within the company.

In May of 1995 Mr. Trupiano joined American Specialty Underwriters as Vice President and formed the Medical Risk Division of ASU. His responsibilities included all aspects of the start up and day-to-day operation. Mr. Trupiano arranged the issuing carrier and reinsurance for the Medical Risk Division treaties, successfully growing the operation to be a highly regarded source for both production sources and reinsurers. In October 1997, Mr. Trupiano was appointed President of ASU Services LLC, a newly formed subsidiary of ASU International Inc.

Effective March 1, 2001 Mr. Trupiano purchased the majority share of ASU Services, LLC from ASU International and formed TRU Services, LLC.

VINCENT M. MARINELLO, CLU
VICE PRESIDENT CONSULTING / SPECIAL RISKS

Mr. Marinello received his BS degree from Fordham University in 1958. In 1960, he began his insurance career as a Group Accident and Health Underwriter at American Casualty Company becoming a Regional Underwriter before moving on to Alexander & Alexander, Inc in 1963. During his 32 years at A & A, prior to the merger with Aon, he became a Senior Vice President and served as a member of the Management Executive Committee of A & A Benefit Services, Inc.

Mr. Marinello has extensive experience in the design, marketing, and servicing of domestic and international programs for Fortune 500 firms, as well as prominent National Non-Profit Organizations and Associations. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter, a licensed Property Casualty broker, and a Life and Accident / Health agent.

Mr. Marinello joined ASU International in April 1998 and started the Maplewood, NJ marketing office to establish a presence in and generate revenue from the Greater New York Metropolitan area. He joined ASU Services LLC (which later became TRU Services, LLC) as of April 2000 to concentrate his efforts in the Stop Loss area and develop additional consultant/broker opportunities.

 

JULES F. LACOSTE III
VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES

Mr. Lacoste received his BS with a major in Marketing and a minor in Finance from Loyola University in 1983. From 1985 to 1997, Mr. Lacoste worked for Sun Life of Canada. He was initially hired as a Group Representative, promoted to Senior Group Representative, and further promoted to Group Manager due to superior sales performance and a creative marketing vision. During Mr. Lacoste's tenure, he developed one of the largest and most profitable blocks of stop loss for Sun Life of Canada.

In September 1997, Mr. Lacoste became Vice President of Sales for American Specialty Underwriters Medical Risk Division (which later became TRU Services LLC). His responsibilities include developing a strong presence in his region by increasing and maintaining revenue and profitability for the South Central, South West, and South East portion of the United States. He has brought with him a tremendous amount of expertise in sales, sales management, and knowledge in the reinsurance market place.

 

BETH R. MARCUS, HIA
VICE PRESIDENT UNDERWRITING

Ms. Marcus graduated Magna Cum Laude from Babson College with a BS in Finance and Economics. Beginning her insurance career in 1991 at Excess Health, Inc., she was exposed to all aspects of an MGU including underwriting, marketing, policy issuance, claims, and premium accounting. In 1993, Ms. Marcus gained further underwriting experience at LDG Reinsurance Underwriters where she held the position of Underwriter. Ms. Marcus became a Senior Underwriter when she began working for RE Moulton, Inc. in 1994. In addition to her underwriting responsibilities, Ms. Marcus implemented a marketing plan to identify and contact new sources of business, which resulted in the establishment of quality relationships with several TPAs and Brokers.

In 1997, Ms. Marcus joined the ASU Medical Risk Division (which later became TRU Services LLC) as Underwriting Manager and was promoted to her current position in April 1999. Included in her duties are treaty reporting, underwriting for key producer accounts, handling the majority of renewals, and overseeing the compliance of Underwriting and Policy Issuance procedures.

 

VIRGINIA A. ANGELO, HIA
VICE PRESIDENT UNDERWRITING

Mrs. Angelo received her BS in Computer Programming/Accounting from Johnson & Wales University in 1984. She began her insurance career as an Underwriter at RE Moulton, Inc. in 1988. Mrs. Angelo was soon promoted to Senior Underwriter, in addition to her daily underwriting, her responsibilities included the training of newly hired underwriters. She was again promoted in 1991 assuming the title Assistant Manager. In 1996, Mrs. Angelo was promoted to Underwriting Consultant, providing her with opportunity to assist the Marketing department in developing new relationships and servicing existing clients.

Mrs. Angelo joined American Specialty Underwriters Medical Risk Division (which later became TRU Services LLC) in 1997 as an Underwriting Consultant and was promoted to her current position in April 1999. Her position includes: promoting and maintaining new relationships with brokers/TPAs, underwriting new business prospects, and providing service and technical expertise to help improve producer's closing ratios.

 

TIMOTHY BARDEN, FLMI
UNDERWRITING MANAGER, WESTERN REGION

Mr. Barden received his B.A. in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 1981. Having moved to Los Angeles, he began his insurance career as an Underwriter in the Group Division of Transamerica Occidental Life in April 1982. In this position, Mr. Barden learned all facets of fully insured underwriting as well as stop loss underwriting from an ASO basis. In 1987, having reached the position of Assistant Manager, he left after the Group Division was sold to Provident Life & Accident, to work for U.S Benefits in Costa Mesa, CA. For the next 15 years, Mr. Barden was responsible for the western underwriting region of US Benefits who was later acquired by HCC Benefits. As the Regional Vice President, he oversaw 5 underwriters and approximately $90 million in stop loss premium.

Mr. Barden joined TRU Services, LLC in August 2002 as the Underwriting Manager, Western Region. His responsibilities include: promoting and maintaining new relationships with brokers/TPAs, underwriting new business prospects, and providing service and technical expertise to help improve producer's closing ratios.

 

BRUCE DUNHAM
REGIONAL UNDERWRITING MANAGER

Bruce Dunham graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY with a BA in economics. After a brief military obligation, he started his insurance career with Prudential Insurance in a Claims Management Trainee Position. After a move to Atlanta in 1991, Bruce learned the self-funded claims side of the business as an auditor and claims supervisor with Guarantee Insurance Resources. In 1994, Bruce expanded his knowledge further as a Managed Care Marketing representative with Alden Risk Management Services. Due to success in that position, Bruce transitioned into underwriting and was responsible for developing North Carolina and Virginia where ARMS did not previously have a presence.

Bruce comes to TRU Services from the direct carrier side of the business. Bruce served as a Regional Team Manager for Employers Reinsurance Corporation’s Atlanta office since 1999, where he supervised a team of underwriters while also maintaining a large personal block of Stop Loss business.

 

JULIE A. REDMOND, HIA
REGIONAL UNDERWRITING MANAGER 

Ms. Redmond attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. She began her insurance career at RE Moulton, Inc. in 1990 where she gained four years of experience as a renewal underwriter. In 1994, Ms. Redmond joined Sun Life of Canada as an Underwriter; during her tenure she was promoted several times, ultimately earning the title of Risk Manager. Among her responsibilities were managing less experienced underwriters in pricing and plan changes, and handling non-standard underwriting issues.

Ms. Redmond joined ASU Services LLC (which later became TRU Services, LLC) in July 1998. In April 2004, Julie was promoted to her current position of Regional Underwriting Manager. Her position includes: promoting and maintaining new relationships with brokers/TPAs, underwriting new business prospects, and providing service and technical expertise to help improve producer's closing ratios.

 

TIMOTHY J. MACDONALD, HIA
UNDERWRITER

Mr. MacDonald received his B.S. in Business Management from Franklin Pierce College in 1999; during this time he also studied abroad in London England. He started his insurance career working for the MacDonald Companies, Inc. as an assistant to the Administrative Manager. In June 1999 Mr. MacDonald joined ASU Services (which later became TRU Services, LLC.) as an Assistant Underwriter.

In January 2001, Mr. MacDonald was promoted to his current position which includes: promoting and maintaining new relationships with brokers/TPAs, underwriting new business prospects, and providing service and technical expertise to help improve producer’s closing ratios.

 

CINDY PARKER, RN
MEDICAL SPECIALIST

Ms. Parker graduated from Russell Sage College with a BS in Nursing. After gaining clinical knowledge working at both Hartford and Beth Israel Hospitals, she expanded her experience in the utilization review arena through positions at Private Healthcare Systems and Salem Hospital.

Ms. Parker transitioned into the reinsurance industry, having worked at LDG Re (which was later purchased by HCC Benefits) for twelve years. Her duties included assessing risks on both new and renewal accounts, developing a large case management oversight program and training new employees in the medical review area.

Ms. Parker joined TRU Services in August 2002, as a member of the Underwriting Department; she is now a member of the Risk Management Department, where she assesses ongoing claim situations for both new and renewal business. She also assists with case management, claims negotiation, and vendor access.

 

ANNE M. TRUPIANO
VICE PRESIDENT OF CLAIMS / ADMINISTRATION

Ms. Trupiano attended Quinsigamond College in Worcester, Massachusetts. In 1979, she began her insurance career at State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America (now Allmerica Financial) in Worcester as an Underwriter, and was later promoted to Manager of the Evidence of Insurability/Group Insurance Division.

In 1990, Ms. Trupiano joined American Specialty Underwriters working directly with Mr. Dipple and in the Claims Department. For 6 years, she expanded her role in the claims area, and was appointed Claims Manager in 1993. Until joining ASU Services LLC full time in April 1999, Ms. Trupiano acted as Vice President of Claims for ASU Enterprise LLC, ASU LLC, and ASU Services LLC (which later became TRU Services, LLC). She also has direct involvement in policy development, product development, and other special project work.

 

LAURA CONTE
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT CLAIMS

Ms. Conte received her BS with a double major in Pre-Law/Criminal Justice and Sociology from Suffolk University in 1987. She began a legal career right after graduation as a Paralegal for the Law Offices of Sherwin L. Kantrovitz specializing in third party recoveries where she gained valuable subrogation experience. In 1989 Ms. Conte joined RE Moulton, Inc., as a Claims Analyst and was later promoted to Senior Claims Analyst. In 1996, Ms. Conte was recruited to return to the Law Offices of Sherwin L. Kantrovitz as Manager.

In July of 1997, Ms. Conte joined American Specialty Underwriters Medical Risk Division as a Senior Claims Analyst. Promoted to her current position in January 2002, Ms. Conte is responsible for reviewing, investigating, and paying claims for TRU Services LLC.

 

COLLEEN M. WILSON, FLMI
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT
RISK MANAGEMENT/COMPLIANCE

Ms. Wilson received her Bachelor of Arts from Boston University in 1986. She has 15 years of technical and management experience in the administration of group health benefits, having begun her insurance career in 1987 with Prudential Insurance Company.

In 1994, she joined NiiS/APEX Group Holdings, Inc. (formerly Northshore International Insurance Services, Inc.). During her tenure, she attained the position of Assistant Vice President, and was responsible for the management of professional claim auditing staff located in the home office and in regional locations throughout the United States, as well as analysis and reporting of aggregate excess claim trends to management and clients; first and third party administrator performance reviews; reviews of managing general underwriters; and client management and business development.

Ms. Wilson joined TRU Services, LLC in July 2002 as Coordinator, Special Projects. Her responsibilities include liaising with TRU's Third Party Administrators, legislation review, licensing, various auditing functions, and other special projects.

 

RICK WILSON
VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE

Mr. Wilson graduated from Boston College with a BA in Economics in 1989. He was employed in the accounts receivable department at West Lynn Creamery from 1989 through 1993. In 1993, Mr. Wilson joined Northshore International Insurance Services, Inc. in Salem, MA as a staff accountant. After several promotions, he departed NiiS in 2001 as a corporate officer, holding the title of Assistant Treasurer. Managing a staff of four, he was responsible for all corporate accounting functions and financial reporting. During his tenure at NiiS, Mr. Wilson gained extensive corporate accounting experience, successfully managing the financial aspects of a merger with Apex Management Group in 2000.

In 2001, Mr. Wilson joined TRU Services LLC as Controller. His job responsibilities encompass all accounting functions for the company, as well as managing staff that administer the premium and claims accounts.

 

MARY EDDY, RN, CCM
MEDICAL SPECIALIST


Ms. Eddy graduated from Lesley University with a BS in Business Management. She also holds an AD in Nursing and Science. Her previous employment at Private HealthCare Systems as a utilization review and case manager, and HCC Benefits (where she was under contract with RE Moulton) gave her an introduction to the Stop Loss arena. In these positions, she was responsible for medical and case management coordination of catastrophic claims.

Ms. Eddy has many years of acute clinical experience from employment at North Shore Medical Center and more recently in case management and discharge planning at a large Boston area hospital. This experience over the past few years has provided her with extensive clinical expertise, which she brings with her to TRU Services as a very valuable tool.

Ms. Eddy joined TRU Services in January 2006, where she will be the lead clinical contact within the Risk Management Department. She will be responsible for assessing all potential large claimants and working directly our policyholders’ large case managers to follow the risks and keep TRU informed. Ms. Eddy also will work closely with the Underwriting Department on both new and renewal business for risk assessment, and she will assist in claim negotiation and vendor access.

 

RENEE TRUPIANO
OFFICE MANAGER


Ms. Trupiano started her insurance career in 1995 in the Enterprise Division at American Specialty Underwriters, Inc. (ASU). Her role required interaction in many areas of the company along with direct contact with brokers, carriers and reinsurers. She was later promoted to Operations Manager for the Company in whole. During Ms. Trupiano’s eight years at ASU her responsibilities grew to include involvement in management, underwriting, claims and finance.

Ms. Trupiano joined TRU Services, LLC in January 2006 as Office Manager. She is responsible for the day-to-day office operations of the Company. She handles all special projects and works directly with the President of TRU and the Vice President of Claims/Administration.
